Original hook for Romanian Point Lace

If you have difficulties to crochet the cord for Romanian Point Lace the problem can be the hook.

As you can see from photos the hook is very thin all along length. These are the original hooks (from Romania) used for RPL. Small number crochet hooks from England or Italy (no 0.75 or 1) are small only at the end.

Try to find hooks similar to these, very thin on all length. Even here, in RPL country, only one factory still  produce this kind of hooks.

Have a good day ladies.

Video for 3D shape cord-rpl free pattern

Hi again,

My post about the tridimensional crocheted RPL cord was not very clear so I tried to do a video.

Any further questions are welcomed.

And  the story.

At the end of September, tourists return at their homes and the sea is a deserted place. Again. Not that I don`t like the silence. Is just that feeling that you miss something ( the sounds, the music).

Every year they let something behind, something to remember. An umbrella, a ball, a doll. You can find them on the beach laing  abandoned, sad.  This year is different. Is something cute, sweet and very naughty.

He is already friend with my 4 cats and thinks that is the owner of the house.

Cute. Have a nice day ladies.

3D shape cord-rpl free pattern

Hello again ,

Triangular shape cord is simple and create a 3d effect when is used to contour shapes.

Less used for flowers, this cord look good on the edges for smal, delicate doilies.

Pattern

-chain 3 loose

-2 sc in front thread of first ch

-1 sc in second thread of ch1

-TL

-1 sc in two front threads

TL.

Now you can start to see the triangular shape. All 3 sides of the cord are visible and will start to twist a little bit.  Do not worry, when basted, will look good and to do the filling you will insert the needle in left or right side. In that way the top of triangle remains always up an create a nice profile to your work.

Repeat till necessary length achieved. Because is not very clear in photos I did a sketch.

September blues- crochet, crosstitch and a little bit of knitting

I have to admit that being summer and at 5 minutes from sea did not helped too much to progress on any started project.

But, as usual, even if I did n`t finished much work , I started another two or three.

First, I finished the blue pillow and is just how I imagined, lovely without being modest.

and a detail

I started a new biscornu with FOB (not that I need another one) just to see how works this degrade mouline thread.

Mouline no 57 from anchor. Nice , good blend. Colour much more beautiful then the pic.

I started a round tablecloth because the crochet magazine had 2oo grams of no 12 thread included and the picture was way to  beautiful to be left for a future time.

This is just first 5 or 6 rounds from 64. God, now I have to buy a round table.

Apparently my DH think that I fall in love to easy for all the pretty things I see. What can I do, I am just a girl .

For a good measure I designed another RPL project and I started to put it right for RAV.  Soon to be done and published. For a first :

Transfered on cloth already.Started to measure the amount of cord needed.

I am ashamed to admit that beside all this I have other two or three things started ,a crosstitch one(pillow of course) and a knitting one (just Triinu)  even that I promised to stop at 3 projects at a time… is just that I fell in love too easy.

Drawn thread or open work- free pattern for a decorative pillow

I love to change pillows around my house as much as my mother use to change the position of furniture once. One day my bed was here, second day at the opposite wall. Then I hate it but now…

I have summer pillowcases, winter ones, Easter, Christmas, bad day, good day,I hate you, I love you, I don`t give a sh..  and a tone of others to do, in my computer and in my work basket, just because I think that you can change a house by changing small things like pillows or curtains (about this another time ).

After I planned to do a cross stitch pillow case with a big heart full of letters, with beautiful colors (different tones of pink), I bought material, thread and all but then…. I stumbled over a drawn thread (or open work or punto tirato) project and I fell in love (again). My DH is still amazed how I can change my mind in one second and do a totally different project from the one I started. What !!! I have to feel guilty ??? No, one day I will still do that wonderful pink heart. Just not now.

This is  one of the  free books from  Antique Pattern Library where you can find wonderful patterns and details about how to do drawn thread work and pretty much everything about handwork .The one I used is here and is very good even if you know nothing about this technique because is explained very well and complete

At page 32 is the figure 70 for an open work ground

and this is the result.

I still have to do those spirals over but is so delicate and I like it so much as it is. For the moment it stays like this.

More details next time.

Good night ladies.
